Parent to Parent

The Parent to Parent program provides both emotional and informational support to parents of children with special needs from birth to adulthood. Parents who may be just learning about their child’s disability or chronic health condition will be provided with helpful information and resources in their local communities that will assist them. Parents may also receive personal support and mentoring from other parents who have a child of their own with similar needs. “Helping Parents” provide one to one emotional and informational support to caretakers. They will be able to answer your questions and provide you with useful resource information regarding how best to meet your child’s special needs. Parent to Parent Peer Mentors are trained using our “With A Little Help from our Friends” program to build disability awareness in middle school and high-school. The Peer Mentors assist us in our various recreational programs.
